Summer has arrived in full force, and some of us have patiently awaited the season’s arrival and a trip to the beach. It’s a little different for pet owners, though. Summer is the best time to take long walks or treks with our four-legged family members, but it’s also when fleas and ticks are most prevalent. This summer, we’ve created a list of all-natural remedies for pets!
Here Are Natural Remedies For Pets To Get Rid Of Ticks And Fleas
1. Washes, Sprays, Dips, and Rubs
Flea Spray with Essential Oils
Some essential oils, like citronella, eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, and rosemary, can help with fleas in dogs. Dilute a few drops of essential oil in 300ml–400ml of water and spray directly on your dog's coat. Ensure oils like tea tree oil are adequately diluted (0.1%–1%) as they can be toxic if not used carefully.
Apple Cider Vinegar and Salt Flea Spray
Mix six cups of apple cider vinegar with four cups of water, add a pinch of sea salt, and spritz your dog's coat. Avoid the eyes.
Bath in Lemon
To prepare, dilute half a cup of lemon juice in two cups of water, then add a squeeze of pet-friendly soap or shampoo. This bath helps your cat stay fresh while addressing fleas naturally.
Using Shampoo
Any lathering pet-friendly shampoo can kill existing fleas. Opt for organic, chemical-free options for the best results.
